APP PRESS
App Press, a tech startup based in the Indianapolis area, developed an innovative tool that enables creatives to design, develop, and publish apps to the Apple Store. During my time at App Press, I designed user interfaces for a wide range of applications, including recipe apps, entertainment apps, and fashion lookbook apps for prominent companies such as Nordstrom and Kohl's, which were viewed nationwide. In addition to design work, I contributed to testing and data collection to enhance and debug the App Press software. I collaborated closely with developers to identify and resolve issues related to user experience, ensuring the platform was intuitive and effective for all users.
The app on the left is the Southside Animal Shelter adoption tool I developed while working at App Press. The shelter had been facing a recurring issue where dogs were being adopted and then returned because their personalities or needs didn’t align with the adopter's lifestyle. To address this, I designed a systematic solution to better match families with pets during the adoption process. My solution was a mobile app that guides potential adopters through a series of questions, helping them identify which pets would be best suited to their lifestyle. The app then generates a color code, which is displayed on the pet’s cage at the shelter, indicating which animals are the best match for the adopter’s needs. This visual guide streamlined the process and increased successful adoptions by ensuring better compatibility between pets and families.
